On Wednesday, Google announced that AI capabilities that allow users to virtually try out clothing have been expanded to Australia, Canada and Japan. Tech Giant also announced that the feature will allow users to virtually try out shoes.
This feature works by asking users to upload photos and see what the real clothes look like. This allows users to visualize what different pairs of shoes look like.
To try out a virtual pair of shoes, users will need to tap on Google’s product list, select the “Try it” button, then add a photo of their length. A few seconds later, they will see the shoes from a list of their own digital versions. Users have the option to save or share images with others.

It will be released two months after Google introduced the ability for users to use AI to effectively try on clothes. Google had already provided virtual Tryon technology before, but the previous features focused on displaying items on a variety of models’ bodies. With the new AI feature, the company has allowed users to try out clothing with virtual versions of their bodies.
Google is also investing in virtual tryon space other ways. In June, Tech Giant launched an experimental app called DOPPL, which uses AI to visualize how different outfits look to you.
Currently, the virtual tryon features and DOPPL, including shoes, feature the same generation AI technology, but DOPPL is designed to allow shoppers to dive deeper into virtual tryon and curate their personal style. Furthermore, DOPPL can create AI-generated videos, allowing users to get a better sense of what outfits look like in real life.
With both Amazon and Walmart implementing similar features, Google is not just the company launching virtual Tryon technology.
