Emma Heming Willis says she and Bruce Willis’ children are ‘saddened’ after their father was diagnosed with FTD
The children of Bruce Willis and Emma Heming Willis are grappling with their new reality.
Nearly three years after the Die Hard star was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), Emma shared an update on how her daughters Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11, are battling their father’s illness.
“I think they’re doing well, all things considered,” she said in an interview with Vogue Australia published on October 10. “But it’s hard. They’re grieving. They miss their father so much. He’s missing out on important milestones. It’s tough on them.”
“But kids are resilient,” she said, adding, “Before, I hated hearing things like that because people didn’t understand what we were going through. I don’t know if my kids will be resilient. But they’re learning, and so am I.”
Emma, 47, also spoke about how Bruce, who is also father to daughters Rumer Willis, 37, Scout Willis, 34, and Talulah Willis, 31, with ex-wife Demi Moore, has adapted since being diagnosed with aphasia and FTD in 2023 at the age of 67.
