Five years after his film debut with Clueless, Bilderback played Bitchy, but ultimately the harmless Whitney.
Bring It On was her biggest film, but she worked steadily in films and television, including her recurring role as Heather in Dawson Creek. A martial arts expert and trained dancer, Builderback has done all of her own stunts over the years.
The Korean-American Builderback told The Huffington Post in 2018. “The majority of the roles I portrayed were either roles aimed at white actresses or ethnicity was not specified. So for me, I think I can think I’m lucky enough to think that I was like an Asian actress. Liu, Lindsay Price, and one or two other actresses who are still working today.”
What it’s like to continue auditioning at that point in her career, Builderback (read for crazy rich Asians, but didn’t get it) replied, “I was always very fortunate. I was always working. But for me, for me, I’ve reached the next level I thought I’d already been.”
“This year has returned to writing for me, and it’s been a really beautiful, huge groundbreaking year for me,” she continued. “I wrote a pilot for a 30-minute single-camera sitcom casually about my life. I’m really making it. I’m producing my first feature film.
