Devon Werkheiser is opening up about former castmate Tyler Chase.
The co-stars of Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide are speaking out after a heartbreaking video of Tyler, 36, experiencing homelessness on the streets of Riverside, California, was leaked on social media.
Devon, who played Ned on the hit Nickelodeon show, told TMZ in an interview published on Dec. 22, “Tyler was a sensitive, kind, gentle kid.” “It’s heartbreaking to see him like this.”
In a Dec. 20 social media post that went viral, a recorder asked if Tyler was on Disney Channel, to which he clarified that he was on Nickelodeon. When I ask him the name of the show, he replies, “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.”
And while Devon hasn’t been in touch with Tyler, who played Martin on Ned’s Declassified, since the show ended in 2007, he acknowledged the role that his struggles with addiction and mental health may have played in his co-star’s life.
“I haven’t seen Tyler in about 20 years since the show ended,” Devon explained. “Anyone who has ever dealt with severe addiction or serious mental health issues knows that if you don’t seek help, it can be an incredibly difficult situation.”
