Face mapping your daily makeup
Your face is unique to you, so why should your makeup routine and application perfectly match everyone else’s? Myricks calls this face mapping. “The way your makeup is designed and its coverage should be tailored to your face and its individual needs,” she said. “This is not your run-of-the-mill blanket. I think that’s what’s really creating the frustration.”
The first step to mapping your face is managing your skin texture and skin type. Next, think about what you want and answer some questions. “What’s the challenge? Can you describe your face? What happens during the day? Is your nose sweaty, or are your cheeks all oily but the rest of your face dry?”
Once you have these specific details decided, you need to decide what kind of finish and coverage you want. Next, build your product. “I want people to see themselves. Just focus on you. This is what you’re all about. What do you want? What do you want on your face today? And let’s work from there,” Myricks told E! news.
Without realizing it, I’ve been doing this while reinventing my makeup routine and collection. Below are some products that have worked well for me and my extremely dry skin.
