Chris Pratt is the guardian of human actors.
In fact, not only did the Parks and Recreation alum reveal that she wasn’t worried about the possibility of artificial intelligence taking over actors’ roles in the future, she also fired a few shots at one AI actress in particular, Tilly Norwood.
“I don’t think an AI will ever replace me,” Chris, 46, told Variety at the premiere of “Mercy” in New York on January 20. “I heard about Tilly Norwood. I think it’s all bullshit. I’ve never seen her in a movie. I don’t know who this person is.”
He added, “You know, it’s all fake until it’s something.”
Who is Tilly Norwood? She is a completely AI-generated “actress” created by Eline van der Velden. The technology sparked an immediate backlash from Hollywood after the Dutch writer introduced Tilly as a digital performer at the Zurich Film Festival in September and announced that he wanted the computerized “actress” to be affiliated with a real talent agency.
In a statement to E! In news from Tilly, the seemingly real software seems to have a sense of humor, responding to Chris’ comment: “Oh, then I’ll date Chris Pine’s AI twin!”
