The Outer Banks set reportedly got heated.
TMZ reported, citing multiple sources with direct knowledge of the incident, that executive producer Jonas Pate allegedly had a sexual relationship with a female production assistant during filming on October 22, and People magazine confirmed the incident. According to the outlet, stars Madeline Cline and Chase Stokes intervened.
According to People, Jonas, who co-created the series with twins Josh Pate and Shannon Burke, allegedly yelled into the PA and shook his shoulder.
According to TMZ, the incident allegedly occurred during the filming of the series’ fifth and final season in Croatia. According to the newspaper, tensions had been high on set before the altercation occurred. The paper reports that Chase separated the two and that Madeline also intervened to defuse the situation.
Eh! The News has reached out to Netflix and representatives for Jonas, Chase, and Madeline for comment, but have not yet received a response.
Since its debut on Netflix in 2020, Outer Banks, which follows a ragtag group of teens from the eponymous North Carolina region who transform into international treasure hunters, has become a popular series on the streaming platform.
