Kirk was known for establishing Turning Point USA in 2012. It is an organization focused on inducing conservative activity on school campuses. He has built a massive supporter on social media, including over 3.8 million subscribers to his YouTube channel.
The media personality, who wrote five books in his lifetime, appeared with Trump multiple times during the 2024 presidential election, speaking at the Republican National Convention that July.
Shortly after the shooting, Trump issued a statement dealing with the situation.
“We all have to pray for Charlie Kirk, who was shot,” he wrote in a post about the Truth Society. “Amazing man from top to bottom. God bless him!”
Similarly, Vice President JD Vance has provided conservative commentators with his well-read and writing, writing on X (formerly Twitter).
Others also spoke about the situation, including Chris Pratt, who asked for prayer for Kirk.
“Now I’m praying for Charlie Kirk, for his wife and young children, for our country,” the actor posted on X. “We need God’s grace. God helps us.”
