Supernatural fans are mourning the death of a beloved cast member.
Carrie Ann Fleming, best known for her role as Karen Singer on the series, passed away “peacefully surrounded by her loved ones” on February 26 after being diagnosed with breast cancer, her rep confirmed to People magazine. She was 51 years old.
“It has been a great honor to know Carrie,” the actress’s publicist added in a March 22 statement. “She was a beautiful soul, an inspiration, and most of all, kind. She will be sorely missed.”
According to Variety, Carey studied acting at the Kaleidoscope Theater and Kidco Theater and Dance Company in Victoria, British Columbia, before eventually landing bit roles in Happy Gilmore and the 1994 series Viper. She found her niche in the horror genre when she appeared in the 2005 series Masters of Horror, playing the title character in the episode “Jennifer”.
Carrey also appeared in Tooth Fairy and Bloodsuckers before being cast as the wife of Jim Beaver’s Bobby Singer on Supernatural.
After Carrie’s death, Jim wrote a touching eulogy for his late friend, detailing how they instantly connected and formed a deep bond on the set of the fantasy series.
