But just weeks after Dr. Atticus “Link” Lincoln (Chris Carmack) narrowly survives the explosion at Gray Sloan Memorial, his wife, Dr. Jo Wilson (Luddington), who is pregnant with twins, is embroiled in a major health scare of her own.

During the episode, Joe experiences shortness of breath, and it is later revealed by the pregnant doctor that he has heart failure. Colleagues Dr. Winston Ndugu (Anthony Hill) and Dr. Ben Warren (Jason George) attempt a series of treatments, all of which ultimately fail.
