Productivity software maker Atlassian has agreed to acquire ARC and DIA browsers for $610 million in cash.

“Today’s browsers were not built for work. They were built for browsing. This transaction is a bold step towards rethinking the browser for the knowledge work of the AI era.”

“Together we’ll create an AI-powered browser optimized for many SaaS applications that live in tabs. Knowledge workers love to use it every day,” he added.

Browser company CEO Josh Miller said in a post on X that his company will run independently under Atlassian and will continue to develop DIA.

Miller said the deal will allow browser companies to hire and ship features more quickly, supporting multiple platforms.

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of Atlassian in 2026.

The browser company recently raised $50 million at a $550 million valuation last year. The startup has raised a total of $128 million in multiple rounds so far, including Pace Capital, Jeff Weiner from LinkedIn, Medium’s EV Williams, Figma’s Dylan Field, Akshay Kothari from Notion and Jason Warner from Github.
