An impressive union Boeing Defense workers said they had reached a temporary agreement with the company on Wednesday, and that they were conditional on a final vote this Friday.

According to the International Union of Mechanics and Aerospace Workers, the contract, which was set for five years, includes better wages and will recover the signature bonus. Members of the union, which is based primarily in St. Louis, Missouri, will vote for the interim agreement Friday morning.

Specific details of the new contract were not available immediately. Impressive workers mainly assemble and maintain F-15 fighter jets and missile systems.

More than 3,000 Boeing members have been on strike since the beginning of August. Employees had rejected new contract offers, which were included among other improvements, including a general wage increase of 20% and a $5,000 signature bonus.

It was the first strike in almost 30 years.

Before the strike, Boeing CEO Kelly Autoberg said the impact of the potential strike was not that great.

“We manage this. We don’t worry too much about the meaning of a strike, we manage our path through it,” he said in a revenue call at the end of July.

Earlier this month, Boeing hired a private amount of new workers and replaced people in the defense sector to meet demand.

The defence strike comes after more than 32,000 organized mechanics who built commercial aircraft for seven weeks finished their work after a failed contract meeting last year.
