Arsenal lost 2-1 at home to Bournemouth, leaving their lead in the Premier League with nine points, but Man City still have two games in hand.

Bournemouth’s Alex Scott secured a big win in the Premier League title race by scoring the winning goal as they beat leaders Arsenal 2-1 at the Emirates.

On Saturday, Scott surprised the nervous-looking hosts with a cool finish in the 74th minute following a great build-up.

The defeat means struggling Arsenal still hold a seemingly commanding nine-point lead over Manchester City, but they have played two more games than City and could close the gap if they beat Chelsea on Sunday.

Bournemouth dominated the first half and took the lead in the 17th minute when Eli Junior Crupi’s deflected cross was met at the far post.

Arsenal’s response was lackluster, but they came to the rescue when Bournemouth’s Ryan Christie was adjudged to have blocked a ball into the area with his arm, allowing Victor Goqueres to equalize with a penalty in the 35th minute.

Arsenal held their breath in search of a winner, but it was Bournemouth who pulled off a comeback as they moved up to ninth place and in contention for a European qualification spot.
