Arsenal won 4-0 against Atlético, with Victor Goqueres ending the drought with two goals, PSG with seven hits and Barcelona with six.

Arsenal scored a powerful side shot in the second half to defeat Atletico Madrid 4-0 at the Emirates Stadium, securing their third consecutive Champions League victory.

It was a close encounter between the two teams in the first period on Tuesday, but Arsenal shocked Diego Simeone’s side with goals from Gabriel and Gabriel Martinelli and a brace from Victor Goqueres, resulting in Arsenal’s rout.

Gabriel broke the deadlock in the 57th minute by heading in Declan Rice’s free-kick, just after Julian Alvarez hit the visitors’ crossbar.

Seven minutes later, Martinelli produced a superb strike and, as Arsenal were running riot, Joekeles slotted in his first goal of the night off a deflection, ending a nine-match scoring drought for club and country for the Swede.

Atlético again failed to cope with a set-piece and Gokeres scored the second goal.

The win extends Arsenal’s unbeaten run to nine games, taking them to nine points in the group phase and putting them on track to qualify for the knockout phase.

Atlético have three points but will have to dust themselves off after their unbeaten run of six games in all competitions came to an abrupt halt.

Holders PSG score an impressive seven goals against Leverkusen

It was an action-packed night with Paris Saint-Germain scoring seven goals, Barcelona six and Erling Haaland scoring his 24th goal of the season.

PSV Eindhoven beat Italian champions Napoli 6-2 with Inter Milan’s big win to maintain their perfect start in Europe.

Defending champions PSG are at the top of the standings with a 7-2 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in a match where both teams were reduced to 10 players.

Barcelona bounced back from their loss to PSG earlier in the month with a 6-1 win against Olympiakos.

Last season’s finalists Inter defeated Union Saint Giroise by the same score.

Haaland’s goal gave Manchester City a 2-0 victory over Villarreal.

Fermin López hat-trick, Rashford scores twice for Barcelona

Fermin Lopez scored a hat-trick and Marcus Rashford scored twice as Barcelona ran riot.

In the second half, when Santiago Hetze’s controversial red card reduced the Greek champions to 10 men, Barça made the most of it, scoring four goals to complete the rout.

This was Lopez’s first career hat-trick, with Lamine Yamal also scoring from the penalty spot.

Olympiakos had no reply when Hetze was shown a second yellow card in the 57th minute, although replays showed that Hetze did not appear to have made contact with Marc Casado, who tried to pull him back.

Just three minutes earlier, Ayub El Kaabi’s penalty had put the visitors back at 2-1.

Two clinical finishes from López gave Barcelona a 2-0 lead at half-time. The Spanish champions then added additional players and overwhelmed Olympiakos, scoring four goals in 11 minutes, starting with Yamal’s spot-kick.

Rashford, on loan from Manchester United, has scored four goals in three Champions League games this season.

Kazakh team Kairat earned their first point in European football’s elite club competition with a 0-0 draw with Paphos.
