Amy Madigan – supporting actress
“I have been an actor for over 40 years, and to be nominated today for the first time and to be recognized by my peers is a truly humbling moment,” she said in a statement. “This journey of bringing Gladys to life in Zach Creger’s WEAPONS, and seeing and experiencing the reaction from audiences, press, critics, and now my fellow actors, has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me.”
The Field of Dreams alum shared the honor with Weapons’ director and the rest of the cast.
“When Zach and I met for lunch to discuss our roles, I had no idea that I would be here today to express my gratitude to my fellow SAG-AFTRA members for this recognition,” she continued. “Zach’s original vision and our amazing hair, makeup, prosthetics and costume teams created Gladys and helped me along the way in becoming Gladys. But it was Julia (Garner), Josh (Brolin), Cary (Christopher), Benedict (Wong), Alden (Ehrenreich), Austin (Abram) I would like to share this honor with my fellow scene partners, Whitmer (Thomas), Callie (Shutera), our casting director Allison Jones, and the entire staff who made the experience even more amazing.”
