Janice Dickinson: Tyra Banks: “It was hardcore B—h”
Janice Dickinson, who was a judge on America’s Next Top Model for the show’s first four cycles, told E!’s Dirty Rotten Scandal that “the[ANTM]producers, Tyra in particular, were begging me to be tougher and crueler, like Simon Cowell on American Idol.”
Janice continued, looking back, Tyra “judged the girls on everything, the way they did their hair, the way they walked, the way they carried their faces. It really tore apart their self-esteem and identity. I was there and I kept watching the seasons. She was a hardcore piece of shit.”
As seen in archive footage, Tyra declined to comment to E! Series—Told E! In 2003, she said hiring Janice was “100 percent” her idea, but she “never imagined” that the former supermodel “was going to tell it like it was, as honestly as I did.”
Asked in a 2009 interview with ABC News why she thought Janice lacked respect for her co-judges by calling her a “righteous person,” Tyra replied with a smile, “Why do you think that?”
When the interviewer suggested that Janice was “jealous,” Tyra replied, “I didn’t say those words, you said them.”
But Janis also praised Tyra on OWN’s Where Are They Now?, calling her a “tough businesswoman who does great on TV.” In 2015.
“I’ve said some pretty nasty things about her in the past because I got fired. I was so hurt by being fired that I acted it out,” the Celebrity Big Brother alum said at the time. “I wasn’t when I acted sober. Tyra, I’m truly sorry for what I said to you.”
