Attendees of the ceremony, which was streamed on Netflix, were given a mission to follow Hollywood glamor as it reimagined the dress codes of the 20s and 30s, and all were in service.
Take for example Odessa Azion, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor and achieved great success.
“This is a jumpsuit, not a dress,” the Marty Supreme star stressed to E! “I don’t like wearing dresses. So I try not to wear dresses every time, but there’s a little bit of shorts or something flowing in the skirt area, so it kind of looks like a dress. People say, ‘I love your skirt,’ and I’m like, ‘That’s pants!’
Either way, her Armani Prive fit was a winner.
Ali Larter’s Zuhair Murad also landed well, with the Landman star telling E! “It’s kind of a throwback to retro queens and heroines. And I think his dresses express femininity and accentuate his curves.”
Studio star Chase Sui Wonders also gave strong feedback on Miss Sohee’s dress. “It’s amazing,” she raved to E! “Craftsmanship, out of control.”
Admittedly, she had a little trouble putting on the corset “at the 11th hour,” but “I put it on and said, ‘This is it,'” she continued.
