The latest quest for Novak Djokovic’s record-breaking 25th Grand Slam tennis title made him return to where the Serbian greats won his last major in 2023.
The 38-year-old is opposed to his age and often partisan crowds, and on his way to the semi-finals of three American challengers, including his family’s favorite Taylor Fritz, he’ll just date Carlos Alcaraz, one of the world’s two best players.
As the seventh seeded former champion renews his generational rivalry with the younger Spaniard, he will have to pull out all the stops in the semi-finals to set up a date with Destiny in the final on Sunday.

The much-anticipated clash is scheduled for Friday, September 5th, with North American Prime Time slots assigned at 7pm local time (23:00 GMT).

World Number 2 won three wins against Serbia’s Great.
Djokovic has also won his last five matches, beating the 22-year-old in the Australian Open 2025 Quarter Final and gold medal match at the 2025 Parisio Games.
However, Alcaraz defeated the 2023 US Open winner in the two Wimbledon finals in 2023 and 2024.
This will be the pair’s first meeting at the US Open.
