Jimmy Kimmel I’m getting the last word.
Within a week Jimmy Kimmel Live! It was suddenly suspended “indefinitely” amid backlash against comments he made during his September 15th monologue Charlie KirkIn the murders, Kimmel returned to the air, becoming emotional while sharing his thoughts on the controversy, and emphasized that he had no intention of hinting at his acceptance of violence.
“It was never my intention to underestimate the murder of a young man,” he said, choking in tears. “I don’t think there’s anything interesting.”
And Kimmel explained that it was not his intention to “denounce certain groups of people for the actions of what was clearly a deeply disturbed individual.”
“That was really the opposite of the point I was trying to make,” he said. “But for those who don’t understand it, or feel unclear, or both, and for those who think I pointed my fingers, I understand why you were upset.
However, the late-night host said he “disagreed” with ABC’s decision to pull him away into the air.
“I told them, and we had a lot of conversations,” Jimmy recalls, adding that they ultimately changed their minds. “We’ve been attracting a short attention and I’m a small part of Disney Corporation. They welcomed me and I would like to thank them. ”
