PayPal announced its new several-year partnership with Google on Wednesday. This allows you to use Google’s AI technology to create a shopping experience powered by new AI. Meanwhile, PayPal’s solutions are integrated between Google products, and PayPal works with Google Cloud to improve its technology infrastructure.
While the company did not detail the collaboration between certain types of agent shopping experiences, Google said it contributed to AI technology and expertise, and PayPal would leverage global payment infrastructure, personalization and identity solutions.
Additionally, the companies will join other companies and advocate for the adoption of Google’s new agent payment protocol, announced Tuesday. This open protocol is intended to enable purchases initiated by AI agents and is already supported by over 60 merchants and financial institutions.
As part of the transaction, PayPal is listed as the leading payment provider for card payments in areas such as Google Cloud, Google Ads, and Google Play. Other products integrated with Google include PayPal’s brand checkout, hyperwallet payout service, and PayPal Payouts service.
