9. Help more people see themselves as superheroes
Ryan said that his version of Deadpool identifies as pansexual, and while this wasn’t what Rob originally thought of when he created the character 30 years ago, he couldn’t be happier with the choice.
“I would love to tell you that 22-year-old Rob Liefeld was thinking that way when I created him, but that wasn’t what I was focused on,” says the artist. “Do I welcome, love and embrace what Ryan has done to expand and add diversity? 100 percent. We see what impact it has had on kids all over the world. We’re going to lay it at Ryan’s feet, and we’re going to be even better because of it.”
Meanwhile, Brianna (who plays a character who is not a member of the LGBTQ+ community in the sequel) similarly feels honored to connect with fans who appreciate her choice. “In general, it was great to meet people for whom playing a superhero really meant something,” she said.

The film was shot in Vancouver, so the cast sometimes dealt with cold weather. “The opening scene on the freeway overpass was very nerve-wracking to shoot,” Brianna said. “We shot for three days, and the weather was nice on the first day, but on the second and third days it was raining, sleeting, and hailing, so it was really difficult.”
She added with a laugh: “I remember it being very cold, but we were all suffering together.”
