‘Hocus Pocus’ star Thora Birch makes rare appearance at Cannes 32 years after her film debut

While expressing her support for the LGBTQ+ community, the Hocus Pocus alum came out as bisexual and reflected on how the community had a huge impact on her life.

Thora, who married talent manager Michael Benton Adler in 2018, emphasized the importance of finding a strong community, especially in current times of division.
“Stand with them, be there for them, and share that love that you share and extend it to others,” she said.
“The only way to get through this madness is to just hold each other,” Thora continued. “We have to stop fighting.”
As well as celebrating ‘Abby’ and the queer community, the 44-year-old, who starred in several classic films from the ’90s and early 2000s including ‘Now and Then’, ‘American Beauty’ and ‘Ghost World’, said that like many fans, she is also curious about where her iconic characters ended up.
