The NASCAR community said goodbye to a legend.
Kyle Buschtwice nascar The Cup Series champion and one of the winningest drivers in the history of the sport has died at the age of 41, the organization said.
“Our entire NASCAR family is saddened by the loss of Kyle Busch,” NASCAR said in a May 21 statement. ×. “A future Hall of Famer, Kyle was a rare, once-in-a-generation talent. He was fierce, passionate, extremely skilled and cared deeply about the sport and its fans.”
The organization added, “Over a career spanning more than 20 years, Kyle set records for national series wins, won championships at NASCAR’s highest level, and developed the next generation of drivers as the owner of the Truck Series. His sharp wit and competitive spirit sparked a deep emotional connection with race fans of all ages and created a proud and loyal ‘Rowdy Nation.'”
In fact, his many honors include winning two Cup Series championships, back-to-back Brickyard 400 wins, and being named Rookie of the Year in both the NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Nextel Cup Series.
