Charles Spencer has found his happiness.
Nearly 30 years after Princess Diana’s tragic death, her brother Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, married archaeologist Cat Jarman on May 15th.
“We both feel incredibly lucky to have progressed from co-workers to friendship to deep love and connection,” Kat and Charles told People in a statement. “Each stage of our relationship is fueled by laughter and we share a passion for life.”
In fact, the two first met in 2021, when Charles, who is in his fourth marriage to Kat, was chosen to review her non-fiction book River Kings. Kat completed her PhD in Archeology at the University of Bristol in 2017, specializing in Viking History.
From there, Kat, 43, and Charles, 61, continued to collaborate on archaeological digs and began co-hosting the podcast, The Rabbit Hole Detectives, until confirming their relationship turned romantic in 2024.
The couple’s wedding took place in Sedona, Arizona, just months after the Earl and his third wife Karen Spencer finalized their divorce, and their wedding photos were taken with Cathedral Rock in the background.
