Frenchie’s journey came to an early end.
A member of The Boys superfighter, played by Tomer Capone in the series of the same name, met an untimely end in the penultimate episode of Season 5 on May 13th.
Frenchy and his girlfriend Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) are experimenting with how they can defeat Homelander (Antony Starr) after he kills the president, dissolves Congress, and abolishes The Seven, but their plans are ruined when they are captured at the scene by a sociopathic superhero.
Frenchy tells Kimiko and Sister Sage (Susan Hayward) to hide while he confronts Homelander, but unfortunately the radiation trap they had devised to kill Super proves ineffective at the critical moment. After an off-screen brawl leaves Frenchie bleeding, he and Kimiko share a final kiss before the vigilante succumbs to his injuries.
It’s a heartbreaking ending – one Tomer himself hasn’t seen yet.
“I’m too close to it, I’m too attached to it,” he told Variety in an interview published on May 13. “It’s the longest role I’ve ever played in my career. Frenchie has been there for five seasons, but at this point I’m too close to watch.”
