Nothing is lost, only changed.
And Outlander fans are about to experience something big when the series finale airs on May 15th.
The period drama, which premiered in 2014 and is based on a book by Diana Gabaldon, introduced viewers to Caitriona Balfe’s Claire Randall, a World War II nurse who travels back in time to 1743 Scotland, and Sam Heughan’s Jamie Fraser, a Scottish warrior who is forced to marry Claire, who was already married before they fell in love.
Fast forward to Season 8, and there’s much more time travel, romance, and historical rebellions ranging from the Jacobite Rising to the American Revolutionary War, and the series finale takes viewers to the Battle of Kings Mountain, where they learn Jamie’s fate.
“Fans should brace themselves,” executive producer Matthew B. Roberts recently told TV Insider. “The question of whether Jamie dies at King’s Mountain is a question that this whole season has been building towards. We’re not going to shy away from that. We’re going to tackle that question head-on.”
As for the actual fights, he teased, “It’s everything you’d expect from Outlander at its best: visceral, emotional, and completely different than anyone would expect.” “We don’t do anything easy and we’re not starting now.”
