Giuliana Rancic isn’t going to police the red carpet.
That’s why the Fashion Police alum has been covering celebrity events like award shows and premieres for E! magazine for 20 years. She’s open to a growing wave of influencers serving as red carpet correspondents before she steps down in 2021.
“It’s not about whether you have a journalism degree, whether you’ve worked in a small market and worked hard, or whether you started with a YouTube channel or an Instagram page,” Juliana exclusively told E! News told in a joint interview with her husband Bill Rancic. “At the end of the day, I think it comes down to personality, the personality of the person.”
She continued, “It’s all about your personality and how you connect with people, both the people you’re interviewing and the people watching you.”
However, once E! News presenters also understand why there is resistance to this trend. As she explained, red carpet coverage also requires a lot of homework.
“I was always very prepared,” she said. “I was doing the news every day, so naturally I was always watching the news. So I knew every movie, every TV show, every celebrity because I was interviewing them all year long.”
