How much time do coaches actually spend working with The Voice artists?

Celebrity coaches may not be practicing all night, but they’re hard at work getting their teams ready for the battle rounds and the games that follow.

“The coaching sessions will take place over four days, and the actual combat performance will take two days,” Morrissey said.

On the other hand, how involved a coach is with each artist “is up to the coach. Some coaches love large-scale productions and like to get into the details. Others focus primarily on the music and arrangement of the performance,” she added.

Morrissey added, “Some coaches text avidly, some coaches email.” “As artists move through the competition and the stakes get higher, all off-camera interactions intensify.”

But it takes a village, and former contestant Hoyt told the Post, “What they don’t show you is all the guidance from the staff. The vocal coach, the band director, the producer, everyone has notes for you.”

Snoop Dogg told Access Hollywood in September 2025, “The people behind the scenes don’t get the recognition they deserve. It’s a lot of people who are making things move and making things happen…All these people coming back here make our jobs easier. All we have to do is get on stage and do what we do.”
