British prosecutors announced on Friday that three men have been charged in connection with last month’s arson of a Jewish community ambulance in north London.
An ambulance was set on fire on March 23, in what British Prime Minister Keir Starmer described as a “very shocking incident of anti-Semitic arson.”
The SITE Intelligence website said the Iran-aligned transnational extremist group Islamic Movement claimed responsibility for the attack near a synagogue in London’s Golders Green district.
Counter-terrorism officials are leading the investigation, but the incident is not being treated as a terrorist attack at this time.
The Crown Prosecution Service said three men, aged 20, 19 and 17, were charged with arson with intent to damage property and recklessly endangering life.
Two are British nationals and the third is a dual British-Pakistani citizen.
The three were due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
