Fans will have to wait a little longer to see how McKenna’s arena experience unfolds, but the film is based on the 2025 novel of the same name by Suzanne Collins. The film follows young Haymitch Abernathy, played by Joseph Zada, as he is selected to participate in the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the second quarterquel, which is set more than 20 years before the original series. Meanwhile, McKenna will play Maysilee Donner, Haymitch’s District 12 rival.
