Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins
After his fifth-year option was picked up by the Dolphins in March 2023, Tua admitted to reporters that he was considering retiring after the injury-plagued 2022 season.
And most of all, he had so many great things to do at home.
“No one ever made my private life public. But this is worth posting,” Tua wrote on July 17, 2023, sharing a one-off snap of his beloved Anna Tagovailoa. “Happy one year anniversary to my beautiful wife. I love you.”
Tua gave a rare glimpse into the world off the field in November 2022, telling reporters he was grateful for his wife and newborn baby (son Ace, born in August 2022, made his public debut at the Tua Foundation’s luau charity the following April).
“It’s very unique how having a child affects the way you look at things in life. It’s something I’ve never experienced,” Tua said. “Whether you’re having a boy or a girl first, everyone’s experience is different, so there’s no strategy for this.”
Having said that, he added: “I thank my Heavenly Father that I had a boy first. Oh, well, I don’t know what I would do if I had a girl. I think it would be a little harder because I don’t necessarily know what to do.”
Tua and Anna then had a daughter, Maisie.
