Hannah Dodd experienced the height of awkwardness while preparing for Bridgerton.
The actress, who plays Francesca Bridgerton on the Netflix drama, opened up about what it was like when the cast gathered for a heated script table read, including a scene in Season 4 where Francesca awkwardly asks her family about orgasms.
“It said on the front that I had red cheeks in some scenes. I was so embarrassed,” she told E! News’ exclusive interview with Will Malfuzzi. “I definitely felt embarrassed all over again, but I think they’re written in a very clever way. It’s a lot of fun and her innocence is a lot of fun to play with.”
Dodd, 30, immediately knew it was “going to be interesting” to watch Francesca awkwardly talk with her mother Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), sister-in-law Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and husband John Stirling (Victor Ali) about what happens during a sexual “climax” period.
And while there may be nothing more embarrassing than mother-daughter sex talk, Dodd said the scene with Gemmell was actually the opposite, saying, “I literally went into hysterics because she was so funny.”
