NikeSKIMS unveils its first shoe – it’s a ballet sneaker

The moment has finally arrived. NikeSKIMS has unveiled its first shoe. It’s a ballet sneaker with a tabi-inspired twist.

It’s been nearly a year since Nike announced its partnership with SKIMS, and now the first footwear style has arrived. The release couldn’t have come at a better time.

Launching today, January 26th at 7am PT, the NikeSKIMS Rift is a modern update to Nike’s Air Rift, a split-toe running shoe first released in 1996. The original design, inspired by Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, was created with barefoot runners in mind, with a split toe to support natural movement. Since then, the Air Lift has achieved cult status and returned as a lifestyle favorite in recent years.

NikeSKIMS’ version leans fully into ballet core, combining the iconic tabi toe with a minimalist midsole, single midfoot strap, and sleek sculptural contours. In a press release, Kardashian called the company “powerful and beautiful,” and explained that Lyft’s legacy makes it a good place to start.

With more shoes already confirmed for future seasons, this drop feels like just the beginning. Keep scrolling to shop the Rift Mesh ballet sneakers below.
