Before Blake filed suit against Justin Baldoni in December 2024, she checked in with Taylor on Dec. 4 and admitted in a text message included in a court filing unsealed on Jan. 20, 2026, “I’ve been feeling like a bad friend lately because I was a sad piece of shit who only talked about myself for months.”

According to the filing, in response to Blake taking responsibility for any bad blood, Taylor responded, “I’m exhausted from all aspects of my life, and I’ve noticed a slight change in the way Justin speaks to me over the last few months. Yes, there’s been a lot of Justin stuff, but I’ve been through this before and I know how draining it is.”

Taylor noted that Blake’s recent messages sounded like “a bunch of corporate emails,” and went on to say, “I feel awful being judgmental in any way about how I handle what I’ve been through, but I kind of miss my funny, dark, normally speaking friends who speak for themselves.”

Taylor added, “I know you feel like you’re being attacked from all sides for ridiculous reasons, so you feel like you have to over-explain…but that’s me. It just took me a little further away. And you don’t have to apologize. Just come back.”
