This close call nearly landed a thousand blows on Stephen Graham.
In fact, the Adolescence star revealed that he almost lost his Golden Globe trophy (for Best Male Actor for his role as Eddie Miller in the Netflix series) shortly after leaving the ceremony on January 11th.
“I had to go to set the next day, so I had to fly straight from Los Angeles to Madrid,” Stephen, a co-creator of the limited series, revealed in a January 19 interview with the radio show Capital Breakfast. “It took about 35 minutes to get on the plane. This is next-level stuff. As I was getting off, a woman was standing there with my name, took me down the stairs, threw me into the car, and drove me across the airport runway.”
The 52-year-old was surprised to be directed to the plane so quickly, but admitted he was worried whether his suitcase would make it to the plane with him.
“I said, ‘Excuse me, love? If I’m in the car right now, there’s no way you’re going to let me put my suitcase on this plane,'” Stephen recalled of the conversation. I said, “No, you don’t understand,” and she said, “I promise, I promise.” Anyway, it didn’t land. ”
