Actor Awards 2026 nominations: Cynthia Erivo, Gwyneth Paltrow and other snubs and surprises
The Met Gala crown may be up for grabs for the acting award.
The annual awards ceremony, formerly known as the SAG Awards, will have a dress code on the red carpet for the first time in its 31-year history.
The fashion theme for the 2026 ceremony, which will be held on March 1 in Los Angeles and streamed on Netflix, will be “Reimagining the Hollywood Glamour of the ’20s and ’30s.”
And the introduction of a dress code isn’t the only change that has drawn comparisons to the famous Met Gala, which has celebrated the themes “Superfine: Tailoring in Black Style,” “Sleeping Beauty: Fashion’s Awakening” and “Karl Lagerfeld: The Line of Beauty” at the past three benefit galas held each May.
Just as former Vogue editor Anna Wintour co-chairs the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s star-studded fundraiser, the acting awards are also partnering with fashion magazines this year.
Elle announced its partnership with Actor Awards on January 15, revealing that the magazine chose the dress code and drew inspiration from “an era defined by cinematic elegance and bold expression.”
