“I’m somehow living a very comfortable life in this curious backwater of London, and then all of a sudden the most famous and beautiful movie actress in the world walks into my shop…and romance ensues,” Grant told E! News of 1999.
So… it sounds like Roberts has come in.
It turns out that Ms. Roberts clearly recognized the similarities and that she was surprised by the differences between her and Anna.
“When you actually start, I think you thought, well, I’ll know how to do this kind of thing, but the circumstances become very specific,” she told E! news. “So the choices she makes in that are very specific, and I didn’t always agree with her choices. And I somehow thought we would all make the same choices because we share a career.
“But we didn’t do that. In order to play her honestly, we had to completely strip ourselves of our own arrogance and judgment and everything else.”
Roberts revealed to Vanity Fair what was bothering her about Anna. It was the fact that before she became famous, Anna had posed nude and had her photos leaked, causing her relationship with the media to deteriorate.
“First of all, I didn’t agree with her actions,” Roberts told the magazine. “I didn’t agree with how she got into this mess. I would never have been in that situation. I didn’t agree with the way she handled it… I didn’t agree with the way she reacted. I didn’t agree with any of it.”
