Macaulay Culkin sets the record straight by correcting long-standing rumors about the movie ‘Home Alone’
If you forgot Macaulay Culkin’s name change, you’re not alone.
The 45-year-old reminded fans of his real name at Nostalgic Nights with Macaulay Culkin, an event celebrating the 35th anniversary of Home Alone (where he played the mischievous Kevin McCallister) on November 22nd at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center in Long Beach, California.
Refreshing fans’ memories that the name change was the result of a vote on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November 2018, he told the audience, “My name is Macaulay Macaulay Culkin Culkin.”
At the time, the poll prompted fans to change Macaulay’s middle name. And as he reminded the audience, the choices ranged from “The McRib is Back” to “Kieran,” a nod to his brother Kieran Culkin.
“Macaulay Kieran Culkin. That’s great,” Macaulay told the audience. “I love my little brother.”
Macaulay, who has sons Dakota, four, and Carson, two, with Brenda Song, referenced Kieran’s Oscar win for A Real Pain, jokingly adding: “There’s exactly one Oscar between me and him.”
