Cynthia Erivo defends Ariana Grande as fan jumps over barricade at ‘Wicked’ premiere
Ariana Grande is a sentimental woman.
Ariana has a message for the country after being shaken by a fan who stormed the barricade at the premiere of Wicked: For Good in Singapore on November 13th.
“Thank you Singapore,” the 32-year-old captioned his Nov. 14 Instagram post. “we love you.”
The post was accompanied by a merry-go-round of images documenting her and co-stars Cynthia Erivo, Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Yeoh’s time in the US, including shots of them walking together at a premiere and an image of Ariana in two sparkling Glinda-inspired dresses.
Ariana’s loving message came just one day after the premiere. During the premiere, a fan jumped over the barricade separating the movie’s cast and attendees, lunged at Ariana, threw his arms around her, and jumped up and down.
The incident was caught on social media, as well as how Cynthia immediately rushed to her co-star’s side and tried to pull Ariana away from the fan before security arrived at the group. Within seconds, both Cynthia and the bodyguard removed the fan and chased him off the carpet.
