Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 30 points and nine assists in the third quarter as the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 121-92.
On Wednesday night, Isaiah Joe added 21 points for the Thunder, who improved to 12-1, the best record in the National Basketball Association (NBA) League.

Oklahoma City defeated one of the Western Conference’s top rivals in the second game. They defeated the Golden State Warriors 126-102 on Tuesday night.
Los Angeles guard Luka Doncic was held to 19 points on 7-of-20 shooting. He was averaging 37.1 points entering the game.
Oklahoma City’s Lou Dort, a defensive stopper who usually protects Doncic, was out with a torn right upper trapezius muscle, but the Thunder got the job done anyway.
Austin Reeves, who averaged 30.3 points for the Lakers, scored 13 points on 4-of-12 shooting. Los Angeles has scored at least 116 points in every game this season, but has shot just 40.3 percent from the field.
The Lakers, again playing without LeBron James, practiced Wednesday for the first time this season. He spoke with the team’s G League affiliate and several officials in California earlier in the day.
Los Angeles could have used another star player against Oklahoma City. The Thunder led 30-18 at the end of the first quarter, then held the Lakers without a field goal for nearly eight minutes into the second quarter. Oklahoma City increased its advantage to 70-38 at halftime, but Los Angeles missed its first 11 shots of the quarter.
Late in the third quarter, Gilgeous-Alexander drove to the hoop and hit a behind-the-back pass to Joe, who hit a 3-pointer as time expired, giving Oklahoma City a 100-64 lead.

Warriors beat Spurs, Curry sets season high score
The Warriors defeated the San Antonio Spurs 125-120 with triple-doubles from Victor Wembaneyama and Stephon Castle and Stephen Curry scoring 46 points.
Jimmy Butler had 28 points and eight assists for Golden State, which lost three of four games. Moses Moody added 19 points.
Wenbanyama recorded 31 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists, achieving his fourth career triple-double. He had 38 points and 12 rebounds in a 121-117 win at Chicago on Monday night.
Wembaneyama and Castle became the first Spurs teammates to record a triple-double in the same game. Castle had 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
San Antonio suffered its first loss at home this season. The Spurs won their third consecutive game.

Curry explodes in the second half
Curry scored 29 points in the second half as the Warriors defeated the Spurs 76-64 in the final two quarters.
His fourth 3-pointer gave Golden State a 74-73 lead with five minutes left in the third quarter, its first lead since early in the first quarter.
Curry scored 22 points in the third quarter, making 5 of 9 3-pointers and all nine of his free throw attempts.
Golden State made 32 of 36 free throws, while San Antonio was 14 of 16.
The Spurs built a 16-point lead with three alley-oop dunks in the second quarter, and the 7-foot-4 Wenbanyama assisted on one to Castle but did not throw it down. Luke Cornett made the final two dunks with assists from Castle and Devin Vassell.
Wembaneyama jumped from the free throw line early in the first quarter to block Draymond Green’s 25-foot (7.6-meter) 3-point shot. With this block, Wenbanyama extended his streak of consecutive games with at least one block to 96 games.
Golden State improved to 1-1 in six games. San Antonio has four games remaining on its homestand.
The teams will meet again on Friday.
