Jude Law’s first wife Sadie Frost
Jude Law was 21 when he met then-28-year-old Sadie Frost while working on the 1994 British crime drama Shopping.
Frost’s divorce from her first husband, Spandau Ballet musician Gary Kemp, was finalized the following year, and she married Law in September 1997.
Over the course of their relationship, Frost (who is also Kemp’s mother to son Finley) and Law welcomed sons Ruff Law and Rudy Law, and daughter Iris Law.
In her 2010 memoir Crazy Days, Frost revealed that she suffered from severe postpartum depression, writing: “The more I worried about my condition, the more I became obsessed with myself and the less I paid attention to Jude.”
She and Roe separated in January 2003 and divorced in August of the same year, which she said in a statement was “the only way to move forward.”
In her book, Frost called Law “the love of my life” and said he was a “wonderful partner” and “a wonderful father.”
“We get along most of the time. Sometimes we have disagreements or get annoyed with each other, but we quickly resolve it and move on,” she wrote.
Law told the Guardian in 2011 that he and Frost “are in very good circumstances[in London]have a very healthy 50-50 custody arrangement, and live close together.”
He has tentatively come to terms with fame, saying: “I still enjoy a pretty normal life with my kids. We take trains and buses, and that’s often the best way to go. If you’re building a kind of psychological bubble around yourself, I think you’re asking for trouble.”
